Carols, Lights and Community Spirit

Our annual Lighting of the Tree ceremony took place on 5 December, with local dignitaries including Mayor Sharon Holder, H&F Council Leader Stephen Cowan, and local MP Andy Slaughter attending. Dignitaries from further away included Father Christmas, who along with mulled wine, mince pies and a wealth of raffle prizes, helped ensure the evening was enjoyed by all ages.
Many thanks, to many people, who were instrumental in making this happen, including the fabulous Cappella singers from Godolphin & Latymer, the Daily Shot Warehouse for hosting and serving throughout the evening, and Shoots & Leaves for once again donating the tree.
Thanks also to the generous donors of our raffle prizes:
- W6 Garden Centre’s gift voucher
- Bottles of Champagne from John Horton
- A voucher from The Grove Tavern
- Wine from The Andover Arms
- Fortnum & Mason hamper from The Tool Chest

And finally, a big thank you to our events maestro, John Ashworth, who orchestrated fellow committee members and many other moving parts into a wonderful evening.
