Brackenbury Trial Tree Pit – Next Phase

Under the auspices of the Better Brackenbury initiative which set up a group of interested residents to look at further tree planting and increasing greening in the area, around 20 new trees were planted during 2023 following a list suggested of potential locations, where the Council identified it was feasible to do so. Unfortunately a number of locations proved unsuitable due to underground services getting in the way.
The Council are now looking at continuing this programme and planting further trees in the area in 2024. Their aim is to confirm suitable locations over the next couple of months by digging trial holes and if these prove viable to plant the trees by next March.
Once locations have been selected, they will write to advise residents who live adjacent to where the new trees would be located. If objections are raised a prospective location would be dropped.
Locations being considered currently are in the following streets:
Perrers Road
Southerton Road
Studland Street
Tabor Road and
Wingate Road
BRA supports this initiative and welcomes the Councils further involvement in improving the area.
