12 Wellesley Avenue (the former Aston Martin garage):
Approved commercial redevelopment scheme remains unpopular with residents.
Developer has proposed an alternative residential scheme, further revised after
consultation meetings etc and now agreed in principle by the residents. Meeting with LBHF
due tomorrow to clear the way for developer’s pre-application submission to LBHF.
108-116 Glenthorne Road (former fireplace shop):
Application approved at planning committee 5 March.


Flora Gardens School renewal: Lena Gardens school premises are being prepared for use
by Flora Gardens school. Future of the Flora Garden school premises is under review.
The Triangle site: No change: Planning consent for office development proposals was
granted 2.2.18 (2017/02717/FUL) and notional commencement has secured the consent
Office/hotel development application submitted 30.4.20 still awaits decision.
Paddenswick Road substation site (adjacent to The Oak restaurant): development located
behind substation with 3no. 2-bed flats approved April 2024
Grove House 27 Hammersmith Grove: Proposed conversion to provide 170-bed hotel
presented at further public consultation 29 April. No change to the existing built volume,
minor changes to ground floor frontage, and replacement of inset glazed curtain wall at the
rear by external wall with window openings. Discussions ongoing with HGRA regarding
traffic impact.


Further afield:
76-80 Hammersmith Road (new project – western end block of the group of black office buildings on the corner of Hammersmith Road and Brook Green): proposal by developer MRP to convert and expand the building to provide 420-bed hotel and provision for lifesciences laboratories. Outline proposals presented at recent consultation meeting: replacing the curtain wall with brick framed glazing with stone and metal infills, additional set-back roof storey, street frontage brought forward, rear infill to create from existing U site plan. Particular attention to treatment of landscaping along street setback. Open house consultation 1 May 4-7pm, 4 May 11-2. Aiming to submit PA in July 2024. From initial details this appears to be a good scheme and welcome replacement of the lifeless office building.


Hammersmith Bridge: No change to previous report: LBHF informal advice 7/3: planning application for the Foster temporary bridge scheme due to be submitted at the end of summer – suggesting a finance route has been agreed based on road toll funding. LBHF business case (requested by Dept of Transport) proposes funding by means of a toll for non-borough users.


L’Oreal building 255 Hammersmith Road (corner of Hammersmith Road and the Broadway):
No change to previous report: application consultations are taking place for the wholesale renovation of the building with 2-3 additional storeys at roof level. The structure and general outward appearance of the existing building would be retained, with modifications to upgrade the environmental performance of the building to exceed current standards. King Street & Marks and Spencer – no change to previous report: it is understood a revised scheme is in preparation, taking into account the emerging LBHF SPD (Supplementary Planning Document) for the Town Centre.


The Civic Campus renewal, with a transformed Town Hall, a new civic square with shops,
restaurants, commercial offices and over 200 apartments, together with the redeveloped
M+S site, have the potential to bring much needed new life to King Street.
Ravenscourt Park Hospital: comments have been submitted on extensive planning
application for refurbishment and extension of the former hospital for residential use, and
redevelopment of the north block site for part residential and part care-home use.

190-194 Goldhawk Road: – no change to previous report: comments in preparation on
proposal to develop the existing, approx 120M deep x12M frontage light industrial/vehicle
storage site to provide an apartment block fronting Goldhawk Road, and mews development
at the rear. Comments also submitted at consultation stage.
Avonmore School, Avonmore Road- no change to previous report: Comments
submitted on planning application to redevelop the school site with new school
premises and residential development providing affordable and market
accommodation. Concerns have been raised regarding the commercial development
of school land, and the overall bulk of the buildings proposed. Ref 2023/03051/FR3
