Save the dates: Quiz Night and the Lighting of the Tree

Two dates for your diary this autumn, starting with a battle of wits and ending with some festive sparkle.

Quiz Night: Wednesday 11 November, 7.30pm
The Thatched House, 115 Dalling Road, W6 0ET

Dust off your general knowledge and round up your cleverest neighbours: the BRA Quiz Night is back. Last year brought serious thinking, confident team names and a nail-biting finish, with scores tightly bunched and plenty of heated debate over a picture round that was harder than it looked. The Wellesley Warriors recovered from a sluggish first round to take the title. Will they defend it, or is this your year?

Tables take up to eight people at £30 per table, with prizes for the winning team. Places are limited, so book early by emailing John Ashworth at jashworth2@sky.com with your team name and numbers.

Lighting of the Christmas Tree: Friday 4 December
Outside the Daily Shot, 22 Aldensley Road

The Lighting of the Tree is one of the highlights of the village year, and it’s back in its usual spot outside the Daily Shot. Pop it in the calendar and bring the whole family along.
