Flood Action Group – Work starts on Raynham Road

At the suggestion of the council, BRA was approached by the National Flood Forum with the view to establishing a Flood Action Group for the area.
Around 150 properties with basements in Brackenbury sustained flood damage in 2021. Work to install industrial-grade flips started on Raynham Road early in October, Dalling Road and other Brackenbury Village streets have been identified for work to progress.
So far we have had two meetings to progress this and a third meeting has been arranged for Tuesday 15th October.
The aim of having a Flood Action Group is to seek answers from both Thames Water and LBHF on what they are doing to mitigate flood risk and to prompt them into taking further action and to coordinate a response plan with the appropriate agencies if properties in the vicinity should be flooded again.
The Group is composed of a small number of local residents who have been affected by flooding in the past. If you are interested in being involved in this initiative please contact James Leaney on James@Floodforum.org.uk .
