Back, by popular demand, the fourth round of Winter Lectures at The Upper Room, sponsored by Finlay Brewer. The next one is on 18 April: “Brief Encounters on the Refugee Trail” by Matthew Price, Chief Correspondent for BBC’s Today programme. Refreshments will be available from 7.40pm. Donations welcome.
Matthew Price began his career in 1994 as a trainee local radio reporter at BBC Radio Lincolnshire, and then for the BBC in Newcastle. He covered the Iraq war for the BBC from an aircraft carrier. He has worked in various parts of the world, including reporting the 2010 Haiti earthquake, for which he received an Award. He is now Chief Correspondent for BBC’s Today programme. In summer 2015 he presented Today alongside Jim Naughtie while the big names were on holiday, and received rave reviews. Matthew is a local resident.
