The Artists At Home 2014 features 52 artists who will be open during the weekend, including painters, ceramicists, sculptors, photographers, textile designers, mosaic artists, wood carvers and jewellers. A good number of participating artists are in the Brackenbury areas.
Families are welcome, and it is a great way to introduce children to art. The sight of small babies staring at large canvases, buggies in the hall, and bikes and dogs in the front garden all help to create a relaxed atmosphere; the Sunday happily coincides with Fathers’ Day. There is no charge for admission, refreshments are usually available and although artists are always pleased to make a sale, browsing is very welcome.
There is a map and guide available on the website which they recommend as some of the houses that are a bit isolated but they are always worth the extra travel! For more info see the website http://www.artistsathome.net/.
